Looking for some easy ways you can work on improving your overall health and fitness?
Here is a short list of simple things you can do on the day to day.
Hydrate - Yes, I know you hear it all the time, but it IS important. I'm especially talking to those of you who have like A sip of water a day. No you don't need to drink a billion ounces of water a day, but at least making a conscious effort to have some water through the day or swap out one of those juices or pops for a water instead. Your body will thank you and if you are anything like me you have a plethora of water bottles to choose from : )
Move More - This could be as simple as choosing to take the stairs over the elevator when it's just a few floors or going for a walk on your lunch break. Too cold to walk outside? walk around your house, go up and down your stairs if you have em.. anything to just add in a bit more moving than sitting to your day.
Reading over Scrolling - A lot of us are guilty of it, I know I am. We get trapped in our phones, but maybe try picking up a book or your kindle instead.
Sleep - Sleep is important for recovery, but isn't always a priority or even easy to get enough of it with crazy busy schedules. Sometimes our phones keep us up at night too... again .. guilty. If you are getting only 5 hours a night.. maybe start small and shoot for 6 and work your way up to golden 8 hours. Don't forget, if you are lifting - sleep is your bff and very necessary for recovery.
Lift Weights- A hill I will die on is for everyone to lift weights. Regularly resistance training is sooooo beneficial for so many reasons. click here for a refresher on all the goods that come from it.
Positive Vibes - Call it cliche or corny allll you want, but there is way too much doom and gloom and anxiety causing stuff going on to where we need to make an effort to get some positive vibes flowing. One positive or thankful thought may even change your whole mood or direction of your day.
